A discussion between Dr. Jeanne-Marie Ehbauer (designated Construction Officer for Munich), Dr. Stefanie Weidner (Director Sustainability Strategies at Werner Sobek), and Caspar Schmitz-Morkramer (Founder and CEO of caspar.)

June 29, 2022 / 6:30 p.m. / Architekturgalerie München as part of BDA Bayern’s Architecture Week.

Within a space of four months, an engineering firm and an architectural firm have published books on sustainable building independently of one another: Non nobis – über das Bauen in der Zukunft, Band 1: Ausgehen muss man von dem, was istby Werner Sobek published in January 2022 and Der Nachhalt: Prologue by Caspar Schmitz-Morkramer published in May. Both books are the first in a series of publications and both focus less on action than on the prerequisites for action and their conditions. Both recognize the need to pause in order to see where we are: at the beginning.

Jeanne-Marie Ehbauer is also at the beginning – the beginning of her job. She is the new designated Construction Officer for Munich. “The 54-year-old will play a key role in meeting ambitious climate targets and redesigning public spaces. (SZ) As Director Sustainability Strategies and Director of Werner Sobek’s Copenhagen office, Stefanie Weidner played a critical role in the creation of non nobis, a brilliant feat of data collection and processing – whereas Caspar Schmitz-Morkramer’s book turns the fact-based determination of his own position into the starting point  for a personal quest to “find a stance.” Jeanne-Marie Ehbauer also has to first familiarize herself with her new position. Whether she already has a clear stance in that regard will be revealed in her discussion with Stefanie Weidner and Caspar Schmitz-Morkramer, moderated by Nicola Borgmann from Architekturgalerie München.

You’re invited! We look forward to seeing you there on June 29.
